Dear Bryan,
Thank you for contributing to this small discovery to help set the record straight re: Jeremiah Earnest and the date of his death. Jeremiah Earnest and Thomas Miller were executed on the same day, March 18, 1864.

Ancestry.com has the Civil War POW rosters
Thomas J. Miller, Benton, Conway, AR
Captured: Conway Co. AR on Nov. 24 1863
Charges: Hanging Union men
Executed: March 18 1864

P.S. In 1863, Abraham Lincoln asked all Americans to set aside the last Thursday in November as a day of thanksgiving.
