The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Arkansas Military Board

I'm not familiar with the Arkansas Military Board created in 1861. I have viewed what was said on this board a few years ago. As I understand, it was a political move against Henry Rector, but was enforce throughout the war (?).

Within the partial fictious bio of Solon by Encyclopedia of Arkansas www.encyclopediaofarkansas.net/encyclopedia/entry-detail.aspx?entryID=1595 is stated:

"The Arkansas secession convention replaced Borland in May [1861, after Ft Smith raid], yet that fall he won a position as Confederate commander for northeastern Arkansas. As a Confederate officer, he ordered an embargo of goods to end price speculation, but Governor Rector rescinded his order. Borland protested that a governor could not countermand a Confederate official, but in January 1862, Borland's directive countermanded by Confederate Secretary of War Judah P. Benjamin. After this embarrassment, Borland retired from the Confederate service." [Solon was on sick leave after request of Nov 10, 1861 was granted]

In 2007 the encyclopedia made several corrective changes from my furnished documentation, but have failed to correct much else.

Would some kind soul familiar with the Military Board please correct me in what I have below and about to be printed for distribution?

..."aid-de-camp" to Arkansas Governor Henry Massie RECTOR, April 1861, reported as defeated by James YELL, Arcihbald YELL's nephew, May 22, 1861, 43 to 20 in election for position of major general to coordinate the state military organizations via May 15th created first Arkansas Military Board, with: Governor RECTOR President, Benjamin C TOTTEN, and Christopher Columbus DANLEY.
