Major Harold BORLAND, s/o Solon Borland, is buried #1001 with LIEUT across top, where as he is documented in records at USMA, his pension and letter by Union's Secretary of Navy as a Major.
True, he held a lieutenant rank when he resigned the U S A to join C S A.
