According to my oral family history, Price was back in Arkansas prior to my Fielding Price being captured in
eastern Arkansas sometimes about/around the 25th of November.
Oral history says Gen. Price came by/was brought by Frederick Price to his Fielding's home in White County
needing fresh horses, etc. Lt. Fielding Price and several others who were trying to aid Price were picked up by
a Yankee patrol and taken after several days up to Little Rock. Fielding was admitted to the prison while it was
still November, so Gen. Price had already made it back to Arkansas and was gone from the area of central Arkansas
by then. My basis for the dates is that book called Rebel's Hell. So if Carr was shot in Missouri in Dec. it would have
been as you said, after the fact and while patroling.
But if the date was a guess, he could have been riding with Price was my thought.
I actually knew Carr's grandchild and great grandchild while I was still a child here in Lonoke County.
Since I am naturally noisy, I just had to ask.
Thanks-
Linda
