If his name was Beam and he was born in Scotland, more than likely he was part of the McBayne family, spelling subject to change, who
had lived on the banks of the Loch Ness for several hundred years before being forced out and exiled to Ireland by the English.
They hated the English so much that when they made it to the states, they became pirates and robbed the English ships.
The castle still stands named Tulock, or close to that and is a bed and breakfast.
If I were you, I would run a search. I say that, because my own grandmother descended out of that family and I only recently uncovered
that information.
