The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Re: 10th Arkansas Militia -- George Grandv'l Dunn

Thanks, Linda. I appreciate your reply. What I am looking for is any reference you, or anyone else, might provide from civil war records that list George Grandville Dunn in the 10th Arkansas and that list his birth place as Rutherford Co., Tennessee. I am concerned that the two GGD's described in this string may NOT be the same. The timeline doesn't exactly ring true with what I have been told in my life. GGD that was my grandfather was said to have been in poor health for years here in Tennessee in Rutherford County before he recovered, hence the conclusion that he joined the union army in Arkansas some months after he left the confederate army seems to be at all odds with what I am sure is true and accurate account of what I was told by my grandmother Joemma about my great grandfather George Grandville Dunn. If you return and read this, I would appreciate any info you have about George Grandville Dunn relative to locations and names of records that list him and his birthplace, etc.

Thanks,

JCH Memphis
