Elijah L. Bell, age 27, enlisted as a Private in Captain Barnes' Company, Quachita Greys, 6 Regiment** enrolled July 26, 1861 at Pocahontas, detailed as a Teamster June 1, 1862 in Division Train in which he served until he was captured at Tynor's Station November 25, 1863, sent to Rock Island Barracks Prison Camp, Illinos arriving December 11, 1863, paroled at Rock Island Barracks and transferred for exchange March 6, 1865, admitted to General Hospital, Howard's Grove, Richmond, Virginia March 13, 1865 with Bronchitis, transferred to Receiving and Wayside , General Hospital No. 9 March 16, furloughed for 30 days the following day, no further records

**This company subsequently became Company K, 6th Regiment Arkansas Infantry
