Don, after the war the Union soldiers who died and were buried at Helena, Arkansas, were reinterred at Memphis, Tennessee -- most of them in what is now the National Cemetery. Some of the Helena burials could not be individually identified when the reinterment process began, so their graves at Memphis were marked as "Unknown U.S. Soldier."
