The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Helena and the 4th of July

In memory of Soloman Moore, my ggg uncle, who was with the 36th Arkansas CSA,
taken at Helena, and who never made it home to White County again.
In memory of Sgt. Pleas Loyd, my gg grandfather, of the 36th who fought that day
and lived till the end of the war to only die shortly after.
In memory of Frank Vaughn, my great grandmother's double first cousin, who was
wounded and lost his arm at Helena and who later served as a judge in Pulaski County.
Solomon Moore's burial place is at this time is only known to God.
Sgt. Pleas Loyd's burial place is probably within White County.
Frank Vaughn is buried at Mt. Holly in Little Rock.
In memory of all the rest who also fought for what they believed in.
