If you can lay your hands on a copy of a book called The Division, it may help.
It is about that period leading up to the Union taking over Little Rock.
There are some maps, etc. contained within. It was written in the last 8 to 10 years.
The man who wrote it was living at Jacksonville at one time, but has decided he
wants no more to do with the book.
You may be able to get a copy on inter-library loan and even if you get a copy,
I do not know how helpful it will be, but it might be. Or if you are close enough,
drive down to Lonoke and use the copy at the library.
