Re: Arkansans in the Missouri Militia

This is fantastic! I've found several names on this list that are in my family tree. Captain Gilliam Hopper is most likely Gillum Hopper according to some records I have. James Keith is likely my great-great-great grandfather, James T. Keef. He was the nephew of Gillum Hopper, and married the daughter of Isaac Milam (Milum) who is also on your list. I have various Baughmans, Flippos, and Pattons in my pedigree as well. These folks traveled to Arkansas from Tennessee together.

Kind of breaks my Confederate-loving heart since I was raised believing these folks served with the CSA or, according to family tradition, Missouri Partisan Ranger outfits.

I have some oral family history and extensive geneology if you or anyone else is interested.
