I have recently acquired a reproduction of the 3rd Confederate Regiment battleflag (Hardee pattern) inscribed with seven battle honors (Shiloh, Perryville, Woodsonville, Farmington, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga and Ringgold Gap). The original is in the Old State House museum. I am attempting to find further information on the composition of the unit (8 Arkansas companies and 2 Mississippi companies), as well as a complete unit history. I believe they fought all the way from Shiloh to Bentonville. Can anyone assist? Many thanks for your help.
