He was evidently around into 1864 according to records. Kind of curious as to how the stories get gumped up. Not doubting he was hung but the time line was a little different than what is stated. Plus, he was definately caught if he had jined up and was wearing Union blue. Kinda hard for folks like Webb to turn a blind eye to that. There were quite a few of CS soldiers who went home and did not join back up so there was more to the story than just being hung for not reporting back.
