In 1860, there was an entire regiment of Militia in Saline County. I have officers names of all companies etc, many of which went on to command or join units that organized after secession. THis regiment started out as 18th MIlitia but there is reference to the 66th Militia as well with men who served in both 18th and 66th. THe officers of the Saline Tornadoes, aka Co A 11th ARk, pretty much served as a body as the officers of one of the milita companies earlier so I presume many of them went on to form Co A. Pretty much these appear to be township companies based on officers. Unfortunately, only names of officers can be found and not the men. I do know that George M. Holt, a colonel from Benton organized the 11th, served as commander of 18th militia after 11th left, and eventually was made Brig Gen in Ark militia. He was killed in 1864, shot down trying to escape out of Benton after visiting his family.
Anyway, Saline County had a large number of companies as well in the 18th and 66th militia's
