Re: 2nd Arkansas, Co. C to George and Bryan

Richard,

Co. E, 2nd Arkansas Mounted Rifles, was recruited and organized in Clark County, Arkansas. New members recruited in Clark County after the company left for the front traveled to wherever the regiment was camped at the time, and were there formally enlisted and mustered into Confederate service.

In the case of Richard Bogan, he was recruited some three months after Company E had left the county, and when he caught up with the company, the regiment was located at Camp Holloway, near Pineville, Missouri. That's where he was mustered into service.
