The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

In Response To: B.J. Martin ()

There is a Berryman Jackson Martin who moved to Arkansas after the war. He is buried in Bryant Cemetery in Saline County [1837-1913]. His widow, Mrs. Josephina Elrod Martin, applied for a Confederate pension from Saline County in 1914, citing her late husband's service in Co. H, 1st South Carolina Sharpshooters. I think his regiment was actuallly the famous Palmetto Sharpshooters; you might want to post a query on the South Carolina discussion board.
