Samuel M. Henderson enlisted as a 3rd Sergeant in Company C, 1st Regiment Arkansas Mounted Volunteers*, July 16, 186 at Little Rock, reduced to the ranks, Private, n. d., wounded in arms March 5, 1863 at the battle of Thompson's Station, Tennessee, he was last recorded as absent at the end of February 1864, apparently still recovering from his wounding, there are no further company muster rolls extant which would provide his status thereafter
