Does anyone know when John S. Marmaduke became lieutenant colonel of the 1st AR Infantry Battalion? He left the Missouri State Guard following the battle of Boonville, Missouri on June 17, 1861. He whereabouts thereafter are unknown until the records show him in charge of the 1st AR Battalion.
