The speed is supposed to be equivalent to DSL. All I know is that when I click on a link, it jumps right up. No more waiting for the screen to fill up. Our provider is Verizon and costs $60 per month -- almost three times what our dial-up cost, but well worth the price. I never knew what I was missing.
