Hello. I am very interested in the 8th Arkansas. My cousin is considered an authority on the 8th
by some people. There are two books in the works about the 8th, but both were put down as
soon as one author heard about the other one.
My ancestor was Sgt. J. D. Pearce of the 8th, out of Independence County who bathed his wounds
at the Bloody Pond of Shiloh. Not many of those guys came back, but I did notice several from the
8th being buried in White County.
Now that I am retired, I am even more interested. But I do not recall if I have ever been in touch with
your or not.
