Thanks to Evans Benton of Little Rock who brought an outstanding program last month on “The Battle of Parker’s Crossroads in Tennessee.”

The November meeting will be a business and planning meeting. The agenda will include initial planning for a sesquicentennial event to be held in 2012. This will be the 150th anniversaries of the Battle of Brownsville and the Battle of Reed’s Bridge. Members of the Reed’s Bridge Battlefield Preservation Society in Jacksonville have been invited to attend this initial planning session. Since the Battle of Brownsville continued down the Military Road to Reed’s Bridge in Jacksonville, it is our hope that we can join forces for a meaningful event that will link to 2 events and communities.

In addition, discussion will continue on our Driving Tour brochure to DeValls Bluff and fund raising event for the Sesquicentennial Marker at Hicks Station. Hope you can come and add your thoughts to our efforts.
