Co.B, 17th Arkansas Infantry

I thought this might be of interest to those of you researching the 17th (Griffith's) Arkansas Infantry. This is an endorsement by Lieut. Col. Joseph Dotson, commanding regiment, of Company B (Capt. Edwin A. Adams), dated October 31, 1862.

No truer and traver body of men honor our ranks than this company. They endure fatigue, suffering, hunger, disappointment, without complaining and have fought four battles: Elk Horn, Farmington, Iuka and Corinth, with the most enthusiastic and determined bravery. The captain is a noble gentleman, an accomplished soldier and an unbending patriot. JOS. DOTSON, Lt. Col. Comdg.
