I have been working on a roster of Company B, Whitfield's Cavalry Battalion. It's commander was James J. Murphy. After reorganization in May of 1862, this company was transferred to Ras Stirman's Sharpshooter Regiment (1st Arkansas Cavalry Battalion/Regiment) as Company H. I have gone through the footnote.com records and there is only data through April 1862. The data is that found under the 27th Texas Cavalry Regiment. If any is interested in this data, let me know.
I am now am looking for a roster of Company B, 27th Texas Cavalry Regiment after May 1862 reorganization. I had always assumed that the master roster from the Archives, Ken Jones, Ron Brothers and John Riggens included the Texas Company B. I am beginning to see this is a wrong assumption. Now, how do I find, the lost company.
