I found an old letter that states that Levi Bowlin was killed in the Civil War. It doesn't say which side he fought on but I would assume it was the Confederate side. In the 1850 Fulton County, Arkansas, township Franklin, he is 35 years old and a merchant from Virginia. I tried the Edward G. Gerdes Civil War Home Page engine and he was not listed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
