Gov. Henry Rector -- a violent man?

By 1863, Ex-Governor Henry M. Rector was not a popular man in Arkansas. Perhaps this put him in a foul mood? In his diary, Yankee school teacher Ralph Leland Goodrich claimed he was attacked by Rector after disciplining the former Governor's fifteen year-old son, Henry Juber Rector. "You God damned miserable Yankee dog..." You can read the full account of the May 15, 1863 incident at: http://goodrichpoems.wordpress.com/1863-2/may-1863/ I would like to hear from readers if they know of any other violent behavior attributed to Rector.
