I noticed on some records the other day for the 1st Mtd. Rifles that my gg grandfther enlisted for a period for 7 months. I've heard of 3 month, 12 month and 3 year enlistments, but the 7 month enlistment is new to me. How common was this and why that length of time? Thanks for the help! Allen
