MAJ A. C. Jacobs

In "The Flags of Civil War Arkansas", Glen Dendmont reprinted an article from the Arkansas True Democrat dated 25 Apr 61. The Article describes a militia battalion Muster conducted on 13 April at the home a MAJ Wilson. It then goes on to describe the presentation of a 1st National Flag of the Confederacy.

At 10 o'clock the crow that had assembled learned that the flag of the Confederate States , with a full band of music was coming from Clarksville. The gallant Maj. A. C. Jacobs of the 10th Regiment, within ten minutes had 800 men mounted to go out and meet and salute the white man's flag.... Maj Jacobs ordered three cheers for President Jefferson Davis and the Confederate States.

According to the official list of Militia Officers, 1827-1862. A. C. Jacobs was commissioned Major of the 2nd Battalion, 10th Militia Regiment, Johnson County on 13 August 1860.

Does anyone know what became of MAJ Jacobs?
