Those four companies were not assigned to either the 1st or 2nd Regiment of 30-Day Volunteers. I believe that Reve's company was intended for the proposed 3rd Regiment (Mounted). The other three just showed up and mustered as separate companies. They were not mounted. They may have been intended to flesh out the 2nd Regiment -- only one battalion of which appears to have actually been organized.
