The Miller County page is blank. The title on the box of this Microfilm says 1827-1862, but actually the entries generally begin in 1837. It appears to me that the numbering system for the Regiments was probably developed in the 1840's, probably just before the War with Mexico. During the Territorial period, there seems to have been a different numbering system used and for many years we just find references to the Miller County militia. I recently read a very good article about the issues surrounding Old Miller county. I will try to find it again if you like. The link below is to the Wikipedia article on the Arkansas Territorial Militia and has some information on the troubles in that area. There is also a hard back book on the shelves at the Arkansas History Commission that listed the Commissioned officers of the militia during the territorial period.
