There was also a Abijah J. Dennis who I suspect is the same man, Private, enlisted August 18, 1862 at Monticello by Capt. Jackson for the war, captured at Arkansas Post January 11, 1863, received at Gratiot Street Military Prison, St. Louis January 22, discharged (released) April 2, 1863, admitted General Hospital, Petersburg, Va. April 29, 1863, paroled prisoner, returned to duty June 3, 1863

Note: The last surviving muster roll was that for the period Aug. 3, 1862 to Apl. 30, 1863. We are therefore unable to ascertain subsequent service
