I am trying to determine what became of William K. Patterson's orgiaional militia company. The company had the following officers elected on
5 June 1861. I know Patterson was appointed as the mustering officer at Jacksonport on 1 July 1861. He began mustering the companies which composed the 8th Arkansas Regiment at Jacksonport on July 6, 1861. The final company was mustered by him on August 29, 1861. He was subsequently elected colonel of the 8th Arkansas, which was transferred to Confederate service on September 10, 1861. I assume that his volunteer company from Jackson county became one of the companies in the 8th Arkansas, but not sure which one.
