Seminar - Civil War Battles: The Dishonorable Men Who Fought Them & The Weapons They Used
10 a.m. - Noon
Old State House Museum - Little Rock

To celebrate the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, this seminar features an exploration of its soldiers, its innovative weaponry, and one of its lesser-known battlefield frontiers. Dr. Lorien Foote will examine affairs of honor among soldiers and the pervasive violence that structured their lives. Dr. Roger Pauly will consider the new technologies that changed the experience of war for the men who fought. Dr. Buck Foster will explore the many battles and faces of Fort Smith, a city that changed hands multiple times during the war and experienced a constant influx of soldiers, refugees, runaways, and deserters.

Free Admission. Seating is limited. Please reserve your place before August 17, by calling Georganne Sisco at (501) 324-8641 or emailing Georganne@ArkansasHeritage.org.
