I am researching one of my ancestors who was in the Desha County Battalion Arkansas Militia. Were they also called the "6th Militia Regiment" and the "6th Brigade" ?
I have looked online at the various CSA sites and at the NARA site. Did they also fight at Wilsons's Battle Creek here in Missouri? Is there anyone here or you all could refer me to anyone that is knowledgeable about the Desha County Battalion Arkansas Militia ? I realize I could order his military and pension records from the NARA, but I live on a very fixed income since I am a disabled veteran and I cannot afford to pay for his records. :(
