Book "13 Months in the Rebel Army" by William G Stevenson was first published in 1862. The author (Stevenson?) claimed to have been in Phillips County, Arkansas at the start of the Civil War, outed as a unionist, was forced to flee, fled to Memphis, where he was apprehended, and forced to join the 2nd TN Infantry (CSA). I cannot find any of his Phillips County contacts in Ancestry.com, nor Stevenson, nor can I find a record of him in the 2nd TN Infantry. Does anyone know how reliable this book is? (My impression, so far, is not much.)
