Adam's Regiment / 27th Infantry / Harrell's Cavalr

I've enjoyed reading your posts about Adam's Regiment and the Battle of Prairie Grove and thought I would share some info that I have. My Great,great grandfather (James K. Polk Brittain) and at least on of his brothers (Thomas Abner Brittain) served in Adam's Regiment and I have copies of their muster cards and will list them for you. It may help shed some light on the formation and changes in their service. I'll start with Thomas Brittain's:

James K. polk Brittain latered applied for Confederate Pension and listed his dates of service "From 1862 to 1865" (April 1862 to June 25, 1865) Enrolled: Carroll Co. Honorably discharged or paroled on June 25, 1865 from the Army of the Confederate States, Hearlds Battalion, Arkansas

Physician Examination: in left hip caused by horse falling while in serviceof Herald's Battalion causing weakness in left side; not good and unable to do manual labor on account of age and injury.
