Does anyone have any information on the moving of the dead from Pea Ridge and Prairie Grove to the National Cemetery beginning in 1867? I have records that say Company D, 19th US Infantry was on post in Fayetteville and that they were in charge of the cemetery. Did these guys disinter and rebury the bodies or was it contracted out as was done by the SMA for the Confederates?
