Co. G, 27 Ark Infantry -- William Alney Davidson

I'm looking for any info on William Alney Davidson or the 27th Arkansas Infantry regiment. I've done some research and have established the below on W.A. Davidson:

- Enlisted as a Private by W.C. Kelly at Mount Olive, Arkansas, May 12, 1862 for a period of 12 months; Capt Matthew's co., 1st Regiment, McBrides's Brigade.
- Later became Co. G, Shaler's Regiment (or the 27th Arkansas).
- Initially assigned to Camp Bragg, AR.
- Was a 2nd Sgt in Co. G in Feb 63.
- Elected 3rd Lt. April 19th, 1863 by Special Order #31, HQs 5th Brigade.
- Assigned to duty by General Order #6. Brigade 2nd Sgt until April 5 1863 and 1st Sgt until April 20, 1863. Replaced 1st Sgt Weatherford who had died 5 April 1863 at Little Rock.
- On recruiting duty from 1 Dec 63 to 29 Feb 64 by Dist. HQs Special Order 172, dated 1 Oct 63. Shaler's Regiment, 5th Brigade, Price's Division, Department of the Trans-Mississippi.

I've also read Turnbo's history of the 27th (W.A. Davidson was not mentioned). What I'm really looking for is anything that can flesh out the history of the regiment - what they went through, any personal stories, etc. Aside from the battle report from Jenkin's Ferry, there really isn't much in terms of the history of this unit.

Many thanks!!
