Re: List of Arkansas Civil War Confederate units
Damon, According to the Missouri Division SCV, Coleman's Regiment was a Missouri Partisan Cavalry Regiment. Raised under the Missouri Partisan Ranger Act issued July 17, 1862. During the June 17 1862, Coleman was operating as a Missouri State Guard Calvary Regiment, but operating independently in Arkansas. This is confusing to me. am I reading things wrong, or was the regiment not knowns as the 46 until Price's Raid into Missouri? I think Crabtree's Calvary was assigned as the 46th, and Baber's Calvary was designated the 45th. I also think that Freeman's Regiment (what was left after being hammered by the 1st Nebraska) was assigned as part of the 15th Missouri for the raid. Is this correct or am i mistaken?
