Sir, I was going through your efforts on Arkansas units etc, and not sure if you are aware of this info. You show the 14th (Power's) Ark Inf etc but were you aware that for a while they were part of the forces with Col John L. Logan (11th/11th and 17th Mtd Inf)? There was even been some wrangling over who out ranked who in the brigade. I know that Powers' Cav, also refered to as 14th Conf erroneously, served in E. La and Miss. Was also involved in a little unpleasantness of shooting captured black soldiers who supposedly tried to run away. They were marching with the brigade and somehow "took" a wrong road and that is where they supposedly tried to run and were pretty much all shot down.

I just noticed that in the 14th Inf info there was not a reference to 14th Mtd Inf or Cav as part of Logan's forces. I guess they returned to Ark sometime after 1863 somehow, or Powers left and the unit was absorbed somewhere. I have never seen any unit transferred back across the river that late unless captured andparoled. I guess I need to look in to this a little more unless someone else already has and has it all figured out.
