It was during and probably some after. Powers is mentioned in OR reports with Logan during a lot of the June engagements, capture of Neal Dow etc etc. The 14th Conf Cav was made up of the smaller units (Garland's Miss and Cage's La) but nothing mention about 14th Arkansas. However, in COL Power's military jacket is lists him as COL of Powers Regt of Cav and says see further info on his jacket under Powers Regt of Cavalry. He is also listed as COL of Powers Miss Cav. In his CSR's there is much info about his 14th Inf being consolidated with others from Ark and that he did not get command of it, and then Gen Johnston sent him to Dept of E LA and SW Miss where he organized a command of a regt and 2 bttns. There is a bunch of info in his file on Fold3 (old footnote) not sure what happened to his boys or who his new unit was made of yet. Will take some time to look at it all later.
