If you take a look at the Supplement to the OR, Vol. 7 I believe, you will find a diary kept by an officer in Fagan's division. He gives the loss of Monroe's regiment at Pilot Knob as 100 killed and wounded.

I have seen but cannot find a letter written by a member of the regiment in which he states the number of killed and wounded at Pilot Knob. The letter is cited by Monnett in his book Action Before Westport. I seem to rememeber the soldier said the regiment lost 27 killed.
