Death of Lt. Co. Wm. H. Dismukes

According to the OR, Lt. Col. Wm. H. Dismukes of 19th Ark. Inf. was "fatally wounded' at Baker's Creek (Champion Hill) before Vicksburg. His CSR shows he did not die immediately, but was captured and in federal care at least for a few days, evidently in one of the makeshift hospitals in homes around the battlefield. His CSR does not say what happened to him after that. I do know he died there within a matter of days. He was buried first in the yard of a home, and later moved to Vicksburg.
Is there anyone who has further information on his death? I find nothing biographical on him either. Can anyone help, please?
