I'm looking for a total number of individuals (not total number of names on all company rolls that can include the same person multiple times) from Arkansas who served with the Confederacy and as State Troops, and what the break down in those numbers was between those who volunteered and those who were conscripted? Also, how many of those individuals served east of the MS sometime during the war and how many never crossed the river? I've seen lots of numbers and regiment lists used to quantify Arkansans in the war, but they always leave something to be desired. I know exact anything isn't really an option when talking about Confederate Arkansas, but I know some of you have crunched these numbers pretty good and might be able to give me a better number than some I've seen in the past.
