Shelby's 1863 route to Missouri

Jo Shelby's route to Missouri in 1863 is rather obscure. I think the map that is in official records was done by Edwards after the fact and is highly inaccurate. It only shows the area from about Danville AR north. It is known that he had a skirmish near Caddo Gap wit bushwhackers. He was attempting to cross the AR. River at Roseville in order to avoid Federal troops who had just taken Little Rock, Fort Smith, and were also found in Dardanelle, Waldron, and Clarksville. We know he was on the Old Military Road near Paris at Haguewood Priarie on Sept. 2 but I cannot determine his exact route to the river.
