Re: Lt. Issac Clark Hicks, 2nd Inf. Regt.

Isaac C. Hicks, age 32, 2nd Lieutenant, Capt. King's Company, Battalion of Arkansas Mounted Riflemen,* enlisted July 20, 1861 in camp near Bentonville by Capt. King for 12 months, wounded at the battle of Oak Hills, Mo., August 10, 1861, promoted October 14, 1861, submitted resignation while on sick leave prior to year's end, resignation accepted February 21, 1862

* This company subsequently became Company C, 2nd Regiment Arkansas Mounted Rifles

Note: Believe he entered as a Bvt. 2nd Lt., aka 3rd Lt., aka Jr. 2nd Lt. which explains the promotion Oct, 1861 with the rank of 2nd Lt.

Also in Company C, most likely kin, were Pvt./Cpl. Hynson M. Hicks, age 21 and 1st Lt. James C. M. Hicks, age 35
