Damon, I believe that information came from a history of the 8th Arkansas, published many years ago by the Independence County Historical Society in their quarterly newsletter. I can't remember the year; it may have been in the 1960's. It's entirely possible that the author mixed up the two companies, especially based on the information you've since discovered.
