Located in Trenton Cemetery, Trenton, Phillips County, Arkansas, is a Civil War type headstone, incribed as follows: John C. DeGinther, Arkansas, Pvt 26 Inf, June 25,1905. No other DeGinther listed in Trenton Cemetery. I have found no listing for a John C. DeGinther, who was in the Civil War and a member of the 26th Infantry Akransas . Is there any way to find who made the application for the headstone and when ? He did marry in Arkansas in 1876 to Dora Poter who died in 1893. I have checked the "Ancestry.com" site, and the "Fold 3 site" but no records of his military service. Any help with this search would be appreciated.
