MORE COTTON BURNED—A quantity of cotton was burned on the bluff yesterday. On Friday evening fifty bales of cotton were burned at Mound City.
SUSPICIOUS—Strangers have been seen near Mound City, on the Arkansas shore, within the last two or three days, who are believed to be emissaries of the Lincolnites at Osceola, higher up the river. An effort was made on Friday to secure two persons seen in the woods, but when they found they were looked for they got away.
