GPCWR Meeting, 6-12-12, Enduring Legacy

Announcement: Grand Prairie Civil War Roundtable meeting, Tues, June 12, 2012 at the Lonoke County Musuem in Lonoke, Ar.

The Grand Prairie Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. at the Lonoke County Museum, 215 Front Street in downtown Lonoke on Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
The featured speaker is Dr. Stuart Towns from Forrest City who will bring our program on his new book, Enduring Legacy: Rhetoric and Ritual of the Lost Cause. His talk will be about the development of the Lost Cause - how it was created and how it even affects us today.
Dr. Towns grew up in Forrest City, Arkansas receiving his B.A. in communication from the University of Arkansas, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Florida. After having taught and chairing the communication departments at the University of West Florida, Appalachian State University, and Southeast Missouri State University, Dr. Towns retired on June 30, 2011, and moved back to Forrest City.
There is no admission charge and, as always, everyone is welcome.
