A dispatch dated Bayou Des Arc, Ark. May 29th, from Capt. Alf Johnson says the Yanks have retreated from that section, and he thinks the object of the party, numbering about 1000, is forage and plunder, he estimates their entire force at 9,000.- Heavy cannonading was heard in the direction of West Point, which was supposed to be the gunboats shelling the Yankees. Scouts have been sent to learn the particulars. A good account may be looked for soon from the daring and indefatigable captain.
